Novak Djokovic: The Undisputed King of Miami
Few tournaments highlight Djokovic’s enduring excellence as vividly as Miami. The Serbian boasts six titles—tying for the highest in tournament history with Andre Agassi—accrued over nearly a decade, starting from his initial ATP Masters 1000 victory in 2007 and peaking with five titles between 2011 and 2016.

Four of these victories came during seasons when Djokovic finished as World No. 1, with four titles achieved while executing the historic ‘Sunshine Double’ after winning both Indian Wells and Miami in the same year. He also reached the finals in 2009 and 2025, succumbing to Andy Murray and Jakub Mensik, respectively. His tournament record stands at an impressive 49-8, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.

Carlos Alcaraz: A New Chapter Begins
Alcaraz’s victory in 2022 marked a pivotal moment in his swift ascent to stardom. The then-18-year-old delivered an electrifying performance to defeat Casper Ruud in the final, making history as the youngest men’s singles champion in the tournament’s history, surpassing Djokovic’s 2007 record.

This title—his first at such a high level—was a springboard that ultimately propelled Alcaraz to become the youngest World No. 1 in history after the US Open, where he garnered his third consecutive Lexus ATP Head2Head victory over Ruud in the final.

Daniil Medvedev: Spring’s Rising Star
Medvedev’s title in Miami in 2023 capped off one of the most stunning performances of his career. Following a runner-up finish at Indian Wells, he quickly regained momentum, seizing the Miami trophy—his fourth of a remarkable six-week stretch.

In the final, Medvedev handed Jannik Sinner his second defeat in a Miami championship match, showcasing the resilience and consistency that defined his early season. By year-end, this victory was a highlight in a five-title campaign, marking one of the most successful seasons in his career.

Jannik Sinner: Soaring to New Heights
Persistence paid off for Sinner in 2024 as he claimed his first Miami title after two previous final defeats. Following losses to Hubert Hurkacz in 2021 and Medvedev in 2023, the Italian delivered a dominant performance, dropping only one set on his way to victory.

Already a major champion after his Australian Open win earlier in the year, Sinner entered Miami brimming with confidence. His triumph there propelled him to a stellar 2024 season, where he captured eight titles—including both hard-court majors and the Nitto ATP Finals—becoming the first Italian to ascend to No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings.
