Mensik’s remarkable journey continues as he extends his Masters winning streak to nine matches. He becomes the first player since Daniil Medvedev in 2019 to reach the quarterfinals in his subsequent ATP Masters tournament after clinching his inaugural title.
Currently ranked 23rd, Mensik’s record stands at 17-7 for the season, propelling him to No. 20 in the ATP live rankings. His next challenge? The formidable Francisco Cerundolo.
Following the match, Bublik showered Mensik with compliments, stating to umpire Mohammed Layhani, “He’s so good.” His admiration didn’t stop there, as he elaborated on Mensik’s prowess.
“Remember when tennis was easy? Five years ago, it was a breeze. Now there’s this guy [Mensik] who’s not even Top 10. What’s going on?”
