LAUSANNE, Switzerland — Jannik Sinner, the top-ranked tennis sensation, is set to face the Court of Arbitration for Sport in April as the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) pushes for a ban that could sideline him for at least a year.

The Court has announced a private hearing scheduled for April 16-17 at its Lausanne headquarters, marking a pivotal moment in Sinner’s career.

WADA is appealing against last year’s ruling by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), which opted not to suspend Sinner after concluding that his positive test for a banned anabolic steroid in March resulted from accidental contamination.

Fresh off his U.S. Open victory in September, where the allegations first came to light, Sinner is currently in Melbourne, gearing up to defend his title at the Australian Open.
