CINCINNATI – Canada’s own Felix Auger-Aliassime has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Open after a strong fourth-round performance against Benjamin Bonzi from France.

Utilizing his formidable serve, Auger-Aliassime clinched a 6-4, 6-3 victory on Wednesday, striking an impressive nine aces during the one-hour and fourteen-minute showdown.

At just 25 years old, the Montreal native converted all three break points he faced and dominated with 89 percent of his first-serve points.

His next opponent in the hard court tournament will be top-seeded Jannik Sinner of Italy, who secured his place in the quarterfinals after defeating French qualifier Adrian Mannarino with a score of 6-4, 7-6(4).

Auger-Aliassime stands as the only Canadian singles player remaining in the tournament, while fellow Canadian doubles star Gabriela Dabrowski, alongside New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe, is set to face the American duo of Caty McNally and Czechia’s Linda Noskova in third-round action on Thursday.
