Draxl Defeats Clarke in Miami Open Second-Round Qualifier

In a thrilling second-round qualifying match at the Miami Open, Canada’s Liam Draxl triumphed over Britain’s Jay Clarke with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

Hailing from Newmarket, Ontario, Draxl clinched the hard-fought victory in two hours and 36 minutes, securing his spot in the prestigious main draw of the Masters 1000 event.

Next up for him is a showdown against France’s Quentin Halys in the first round.

Joining Draxl in the main draw are fellow Montreal stars Felix Auger-Aliassime and Gabriel Diallo, along with Denis Shapovalov from Richmond Hill, Ontario.

On the women’s side, Victoria Mboko of Burlington, Ontario, and Leylah Fernandez of Laval, Quebec, will be competing in the singles draw.

The excitement continues until March 29, with plenty of action still ahead!
