Novak Djokovic’s inaugural week on Greek turf culminates at the prestigious Vanda Pharmaceuticals Hellenic Championship, where he successfully secured a spot in the final this past Friday.
The 38-year-old Serbian star navigated a minor setback mid-match, energizing the crowd to clinch a compelling 6-3, 6-4 semi-final win over German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann. Although Djokovic faced his first service loss of the tournament in the second set, he quickly regained command, preserving his immaculate 30-0 record in 2025 after taking the opener.

“Thank you all for filling this magnificent stadium once again,” Djokovic expressed to the audience. “Despite this being my third match on center court, I’m always in awe. I’ve played in some of the most stunning indoor arenas internationally, but I can genuinely say this ranks among the top three.”
With a swift victory lasting just 79 minutes, Djokovic improved his standing to 3-0 in his Lexus ATP Head2Head rivalry with Hanfmann. Having previously triumphed over the German in Shanghai last month, he now finds himself in his 144th tour-level final—his third of the season—where he will face either Lorenzo Musetti or Sebastian Korda.
The former No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings also ended a four-match semi-final losing streak, a setback he faced at Roland Garros, Wimbledon, the US Open, and Shanghai.
“This was perhaps my best performance of the tournament,” Djokovic stated. “It arrived at just the right moment. Hanfmann is a formidable opponent with a powerful serve, demanding my utmost focus. I was a break down in the second set but managed to keep my composure. I eagerly anticipate the final.”
By clinching the championship, Djokovic would proudly bag his 101st tour-level title—capping an extraordinary first professional voyage to Greece, where he now makes his home. He holds an impressive 38-11 record for the season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
