Gabriela Dabrowski from Ottawa and her partner Erin Routliffe from New Zealand have advanced to the semifinals of the Cincinnati Open!

The pair triumphed over the American duo of Caty McNally and Linda Noskova from Czechia with a score of 6-2, 7-6 (3) in the women’s doubles quarterfinals.

Next up, Dabrowski and Routliffe will challenge Australia’s Ellen Perez and Ukraine’s Lyudmyla Kichenok in Friday’s semifinal showdown.

Routliffe, who possesses both Canadian and New Zealand citizenship, has previously donned the Canadian colors on the tennis court.

In their impressive quarterfinal victory, Dabrowski and Routliffe served six aces compared to just one from McNally and Noskova, while minimizing their double faults to three against their opponents’ seven.

Later on, Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime took to the court to face world No. 1 Jannik Sinner from Italy in the men’s singles quarterfinals.
