In an exciting turn of events, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe have made their way to the third round of the women’s doubles at the Cincinnati Open tennis tournament.

The second-seeded team triumphed over Indonesia’s Aldila Sutjiadi and Mexico’s Giuliana Olmos with a score of 3-6, 7-6 (2), 10-7 on Tuesday, securing their advancement.

Dabrowski and Routliffe showcased their skills by winning 67% of their first serve points and successfully breaking their opponents on three out of eleven opportunities throughout the match.

In contrast, Sutjiadi and Olmos managed to win just 50% of their first serves but converted four out of five break-point chances, demonstrating a fierce competition.

Dabrowski stands as one of the two remaining Canadians in the tournament, with Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime also representing the nation in the men’s singles category.

Auger-Aliassime is set to take on France’s Benjamin Bonzi in the fourth round on Wednesday.
