TURIN, Italy — Carlos Alcaraz clinched the prestigious year-end No. 1 spot in men’s tennis on Thursday by triumphing over Lorenzo Musetti, completing a perfect sweep of his group at the ATP Finals.

Needing just one additional victory to secure the top ranking over Jannik Sinner, the Spanish sensation delivered with a commanding 6-4, 6-1 win.

This marks a remarkable achievement for Alcaraz, as it is the second time he has finished a season atop the rankings.

Notably, he made history as the youngest player ever to conclude a year ranked No. 1, accomplishing this milestone at just 19 years old in 2022.

Dominating the court, Alcaraz dispatched Musetti in under 90 minutes, sealing his victory on his third match point.

This victory also marked his third win in the esteemed Jimmy Connors group.
