In an intense semifinal matchup at the L&T Mumbai Open on Saturday, Canada’s Rebecca Marino was defeated 6-2, 6-2 by Thailand’s rising star, Mananchaya Sawangkaew.
In a display of remarkable precision, Sawangkaew dominated the court, winning an impressive 92.3 percent of her first serve points throughout the one-hour and four-minute contest.
Now, Sawangkaew is set to compete against Switzerland’s Jill Teichmann in the final of this prestigious WTA 125 hard court tournament.
Despite being the second seed, Marino managed to deliver seven aces but could secure only 61.9 percent of her first serve points during the match.
