In a surprising turn of events at the prestigious Indian Wells tennis tournament, Canada’s hopeful, Felix Auger-Aliassime, succumbed to a 6-4, 6-2 defeat against the talented Jenson Brooksby from the United States during the second round on Saturday.

The Montreal superstar struggled with his serve, managing just two aces while committing three double faults and failing to convert two crucial break point opportunities. Despite winning a commendable 67% of his first-serve points, it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.

On the other side of the net, Brooksby showcased his skills with one ace and three double faults, successfully capitalizing on 3 out of 6 break points. His impressive serve, winning 79% of his first-serve points, proved to be a key factor in his victory.

Auger-Aliassime, who received a bye into this second round, was coming off a remarkable run to the finals at the Dubai Tennis Championships just last week.

In other Canadian tennis news, Denis Shapovalov from Richmond Hill, Ontario, is set to face Australia’s Adam Walton later on Saturday.

Additionally, Leylah Fernandez from Laval, Quebec, is gearing up to compete in the women’s singles against Romania’s Jaqueline Cristian later in the day.
