The 24-year-old is set to compete for the title against Stefanos Tsitsipas in Dubai this Saturday. With a formidable 16-4 record and a slew of impressive victories under his belt, Auger-Aliassime’s confidence is soaring. That self-assuredness is crucial for achieving his ultimate dreams.
“When you achieve consistency and dominate in various tournaments, it alters your mindset heading into Grand Slams,” he explained. “I approach each Grand Slam with the belief that I can win. It’s undoubtedly different when you’ve enjoyed success on the ATP tour. That’s the sort of momentum I strive to create. If I can do that, I’m optimistic that future opportunities will allow me to lift one of those coveted trophies.”
Auger-Aliassime’s journey includes a Grand Slam semifinal appearance, which he reached at the 2021 US Open. His Grand Slam record stands at 34-23, including another quarterfinal at the 2022 Australian Open.
