By ATP Staff

The ATP Masters 1000 series, which made its debut in 1990, showcases elite men’s tennis with nine prestigious tournaments on the ATP Tour. Victors at Masters 1000 events are rewarded with 1,000 PIF ATP Rankings points.

Current Masters 1000 Champions

Jannik Sinner kicked off the 2026 season with victories at both the BNP Paribas Open and the Miami Open presented by Itau, becoming only the eighth player—and the first since Roger Federer in 2017—to achieve the esteemed ‘Sunshine Double’. Remarkably, Sinner accomplished this feat without losing a single set throughout the tournaments.

Masters 1000 Title Record Holders

Since its inception in 1990, only six players have amassed more than 10 Masters 1000 titles. Following his triumph at the 2021 Rolex Paris Masters, Novak Djokovic claimed the record for the most ATP Masters 1000 titles, surpassing Rafael Nadal, with a remarkable total of 40 titles achieved at the 2023 Cincinnati Open.

Masters 1000 Match Win Leaders

In the race for the most match wins at Masters 1000 events, Novak Djokovic takes the lead over both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. Djokovic passed Nadal during the 2025 Miami Open presented by Itau. Nadal had, in August 2019, surpassed Federer’s long-standing record with his 379th victory at the Coupe Rogers.

Mastering the Masters 1000

The illustrious “Sunshine Double”, signifying victory at both Indian Wells and Miami within a single season, has been achieved 12 times since the series began. The most recent triumph came from Jannik Sinner in 2026. The fall Masters 1000 sweep has happened five times, twice by Novak Djokovic, while four players have won both Canada and Cincinnati back-to-back. Rafael Nadal, who recently accomplished the North American summer sweep, remains the only player to have captured all three clay Masters 1000 titles consecutively.
