On an emotional day in tennis, two sporting icons, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, took to social media to celebrate the illustrious career of Diego Schwartzman. After a heartfelt farewell match against Pedro Martinez, the Argentine received glowing tributes from his fellow champions, marking the end of an era.
“Congrats on your fantastic career!” Nadal expressed. “You have served as a remarkable example of resilience and dedication, and I cherish all our shared moments on the tour. Enjoy this new chapter of your life!”

In response, Schwartzman said, “Thank you, Rafa, for all the incredible moments, both on and off the court. Your legacy is timeless. I can’t thank you enough for that one time you let me best you!”
24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic also shared his thoughts on Instagram, stating,
“My friend, congratulations on a truly remarkable career!”

Schwartzman replied, “Thanks, Nole! Not many realize the impact you have made on this sport, which only adds to your greatness. It’s been an honor to witness your journey up close all these years.”
In total, Schwartzman capped off his career with four ATP titles and an impressive 251 match wins. He reached the semifinals of Roland-Garros in 2020 and participated in four more major quarterfinals, including two in Paris. His highest ranking was an impressive No. 8.
