LONDON — Among the illustrious crowd at Wimbledon this Friday were American film icon Dustin Hoffman and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, both keen to witness defending champion Jannik Sinner take on Novak Djokovic in the legendary Centre Court.

Notable British stars such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Hugh Laurie, and Damian Lewis graced the Royal Box, along with esteemed fashion figure Tom Ford and the illustrious Anna Wintour.

Tendulkar, hailed as one of cricket’s all-time greats, concluded his illustrious career in 2013 after a remarkable 200 test matches. Wimbledon affectionately referred to him as “cricket royalty.” Also in attendance was former West Indies cricket superstar Brian Lara, seated in the exclusive Royal Box, designated for special guests selected by the All England Club.

Adding to the star-studded roster was Virgil van Dijk, Netherlands defender and Liverpool’s captain, despite his team’s recent exit in the World Cup Round of 32.

At 88 years old, Hoffman wasn’t in the Royal Box this time, although he had the honor of being a guest there in 2024.

Earlier on Centre Court, Alexander Zverev secured his spot in Sunday’s final by defeating British wild card Arthur Fery.
