Canadian star Gabriela Dabrowski and her doubles partner, Luisa Stefani from Brazil, are gearing up for Wimbledon in stellar form.
They clinched the title at the Eastbourne Open, triumphing over the Czech pair of Miriam Skoch and Jesika Maleckova with a score of 6-1, 6-4 in the WTA 250 event’s doubles final on Sunday morning.
Although they encountered a few double faults, Dabrowski and Stefani capitalized on their break point opportunities, successfully converting five out of eight chances to secure their victory in straight sets.
Their performance on first serves was exceptional, with an impressive 80% win rate on first serve points and 63.5% overall service points.
As the top seed entering Eastbourne, Dabrowski and Stefani showcased their skills, while their unseeded Czech opponents made an admirable run to the final.
This marks their third title of the season, following victories at the Strasbourg International and the Dubai Open. At 34, Dabrowski has fond memories of Eastbourne from her 2018 win alongside partner Xu Yifan from China.
Looking ahead, the dynamic duo will compete at Wimbledon as the No. 2 seeds, facing off against Chile’s Alexa Guarachi and Poland’s Alicja Rosolska in their opening round.
