In an exhilarating showdown at the Eastbourne Open, Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Brazil’s Luisa Stefani surged into the women’s doubles final with a decisive 6-3, 6-4 victory over Hungary’s Fanny Stollar and Asia Muhammad from the United States on Friday.
The dynamic duo, who are the top seeds in this ATP 250 event, demonstrated incredible prowess by breaking their opponents’ serve four times out of nine opportunities, while also securing an impressive 67.3% on their service points.
On the other side of the net, the fourth-seeded Stollar and Muhammad managed to capitalize only twice on their two break point chances.
As they prepare for the final, Dabrowski and Stefani will take on the Czech team of Jesika Maleckova and Miriam Skoch on Saturday.
With their sights set on clinching their third title of the season, excitement is building for this promising partnership.
Previously, Dabrowski and Stefani faced Poland’s Alicja Rosolska and Chile’s Alexa Guarachi in the opening round of women’s doubles at Wimbledon, where they will be the second seeds.
