In an impressive display of skill, Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Brazil’s Luisa Stefani surged into the quarterfinals of the French Open women’s doubles with a commanding 7-5, 6-4 victory over Norway’s Ulrikke Eikeri and Quinn Gleason from the United States on Monday.

Demonstrating exceptional form, Dabrowski and Stefani won a remarkable 80 percent of their first-serve points and converted four out of eight break-point opportunities.

Their decisive break in the second set propelled them to a 5-4 lead, which they followed by successfully holding their serve to secure the match.

This victory marked their second triumph over Eikeri and Gleason within a span of two months, as they previously bested them in the Strasbourg International final on May 23.

As the fourth seeds at the prestigious clay-court Grand Slam, Dabrowski and Stefani are set to challenge the 11th-seeded duo of Laura Siegemund from Germany and Vera Zvonareva from Russia in their upcoming match.

Meanwhile, in the men’s fourth-round showdown at Roland Garros, Montreal’s Félix Auger-Aliassime was pitted against the Toronto-born Chilean Alejandro Tabilo.
