Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten delivered an electrifying performance at the Mutua Madrid Open on Saturday, clinching their fourth title of the season.

The dynamic third seeds triumphed over Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard with a thrilling scoreline of 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 in the ATP Masters 1000 final. They rallied from 5-7 down in the Match Tie-break, securing five successive points under the covered Manolo Santana Stadium. Already champions in Adelaide, Doha, and Dubai, Heliovaara and Patten now stand at the pinnacle of the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings.

“We genuinely appreciate the tournament for hosting such a wonderful event,” Heliovaara expressed during the trophy presentation. “As a Fin and a Brit, it’s always a joy to compete indoors, reminiscent of our experiences in Finland throughout much of the year.”

With a remarkable 23-4 record this year, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, the triumph in Madrid marks Heliovaara and Patten’s first Masters 1000 title of 2026.

Meanwhile, Andreozzi and Guinard, fresh off their inaugural team title at the Masters 1000 event in Indian Wells in March, elevate to third place in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings. They are in pursuit of their debut at the Nitto ATP Finals, where Heliovaara and Patten are the defending champions.

“Kudos to you both,” Patten conveyed to Andreozzi and Guinard. “You’re having an outstanding year and are currently among the elite doubles teams in the world. Every match against you is a mix of joy and challenge, and we appreciate the intensity.”

The match seemed to lean against Heliovaara and Patten when they found themselves trailing 0/4 and 5/7 in the Match Tie-break. Yet, their resilience shone through as they outpaced their unseeded rivals in the crucial points. This victory also marked a 2-1 lead for them in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series against Andreozzi and Guinard, who were competing in their second final together.
