Jannik Sinner progressed effortlessly into the fourth round of the Mutua Madrid Open, while local favorite Rafael Jodar triumphed over fellow #NextGenATP star Joao Fonseca in a gripping late-night clash.

Sinner showcased a spectacular display, conquering Elmer Moller with a score of 6-2, 6-3 in just over an hour. This victory marked the Italian’s 24th consecutive win at the ATP Masters 1000 stage. Next up, he faces Cameron Norrie.
Hailing from Madrid, Rafael Jodar fought fiercely to secure a hard-fought 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-1 victory against Joao Fonseca, marking their first Lexus ATP Head2Head showdown. This success propelled the 19-year-old into the fourth round of a Masters 1000 event for the very first time.
Meanwhile, sixth seed Lorenzo Musetti secured a confident third-round victory against Tallon Griekspoor, winning 6-4, 7-5 in a match that lasted one hour and 40 minutes. Musetti is set to clash with Miami finalist Jiri Lehecka next.
Earlier in the day, singles sensation Tommy Paul delighted the crowd with his doubles antics. Partnering with fellow American Ethan Quinn, Paul left everyone stunned by executing a stunning around-the-net winner against opponents Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic.
In further action, Tomas Martin Etcheverry moved forward by defeating Dino Prizmic 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the third round, setting up a match against Arthur Fils.
Recent Barcelona champion Fils advanced to the fourth round in Madrid for the first time, overcoming Emilio Nava with a score of 7-6(2), 6-3. This triumph has propelled the Frenchman to a seven-match winning streak.
Even though Nava fell short, he ensured a memorable finish by firing off four consecutive aces in the penultimate game of the match.
