There are few chances to witness one of tennis’s historic tournaments while engaging with a player who once held the title of the world’s best.

The ATP No. 1 Club provided Ray and Walker Sahag, two enthusiastic tennis coaches from Mississippi, this unique opportunity at the 2026 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. They embraced the premium hospitality of the No. 1 Club to check off attending this prestigious clay-court ATP Masters 1000 event from their bucket list, all while mingling with their idol, Thomas Muster, a former No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings.

This exclusive hospitality service offered through ATP Experiences was introduced in Monte-Carlo and will be available at next week’s Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. Attendees enjoy reserved seating and access to a private hospitality venue, where they can watch matches and unwind in an intimate lounge setting.

“I’ve coached at all four Grand Slams, but never had the chance to visit Monte-Carlo,” Walker shared. “For both of us, this has been our ultimate dream trip, the top of our bucket list. For true tennis fans, this venue is heralded as the most beautiful in the world.”

Packages at the ATP No. 1 Club also include opportunities to participate in hosted discussions or intimate Q&A sessions with ATP executives, chair umpires, and former World No. 1 athletes, providing an insider’s view of the Tour. Ray and Walker were fortunate to connect with Thomas Muster, the legendary Austrian known for his clay-court dominance and remarkable comeback from a severe car accident in 1989 that propelled him back to the top seven years later.

“For me, the highlight was meeting my all-time favorite player and having meaningful conversations,” Ray expressed. “How can anything top that? After our morning encounter, he returned in the afternoon to check if we had more questions. His generosity with his time truly made us feel cherished.”

Walker mentioned she thoroughly enjoyed hearing Muster recount a memorable on-court dispute he had with Brad Gilbert during the 1993 US Open.

“Hearing him share the backstory of that incident was delightful, along with many other stories about his journey and comeback,” she remarked, referring to Muster’s inspiring recovery. “Every time we had a player facing an injury, we would highlight his determination as a model to inspire their return to the sport.”

There was also an exceptional experience awaiting Ray, Walker, and Muster at the stunning Villa La Vigie, a historical site overlooking the Monte-Carlo Country Club, serving as the venue for the No. 1 Club hospitality.

“As an architecture student, the chance to explore such a magnificent building, steeped in history, was incredible,” Walker said. “Even Thomas mentioned he had always wanted to visit this extraordinary place. Experiencing it together was truly a memory of a lifetime.”

Ray concluded, “It’s undoubtedly the most breathtaking venue on the circuit… The scenery is enchanting, the locals are warm-hearted, and that villa was nothing short of spectacular.”
