Securing an ATP Tour title is a remarkable feat on its own, but accomplishing this after clawing back from near defeat adds an extraordinary chapter to the story.
This season, three incredible athletes have captured titles while saving match points, showcasing their resilience and determination.
At the Nexo Dallas Open in February, Ben Shelton engineered an incredible comeback, saving three championship points to seize victory at the ATP 500 event. In April, Mariano Navone mirrored this feat by fending off two match points in his semi-final at the Tiriac Open presented by UniCredit Bank. The very next day, he celebrated winning his inaugural tour-level title.
On that same weekend, Tommy Paul exemplified tenacity by saving three championship points at the Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship, marking his return to glory with his first title since 2024.
