Felix Auger-Aliassime secured a victory for Canada at the Monte-Carlo Masters.

Following early exits from Denis Shapovalov and Gabriel Diallo, Auger-Aliassime triumphed over Croatian veteran Marin Cilic with a score of 7-6 (4), 6-3 on Tuesday at this prestigious clay-court tournament.

The sixth-seeded Auger-Aliassime, having received a first-round bye, now boasts a 4-3 head-to-head advantage against Cilic.

The Montreal native successfully saved two out of five break points during the match.

Next up for Auger-Aliassime is a showdown with the ninth-seeded Casper Ruud from Norway in the round of 16.

In their past encounters, the Canadian maintains a 4-3 lead in the series.
