MONACO — Novak Djokovic has officially withdrawn from the Monte Carlo Masters after also missing the Miami Open due to a right shoulder injury.

“We extend our best wishes to him and hope to see him back on the court soon,” the clay-court tournament announced via Instagram on Friday regarding Djokovic’s exit.

While the announcement did not elaborate on the 38-year-old’s reasons for his withdrawal, it is worth noting that the 24-time Grand Slam champion last competed two weeks ago, where he was defeated in three sets by Jack Draper in the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open.

Last year, Djokovic faced a second-round exit in Monte Carlo at the hands of Alejandro Tabilo.

As of now, Djokovic, currently ranked No. 3, has not addressed his withdrawal on his social media channels.
