Jannik Sinner faces Frances Tiafoe in an electrifying match this Thursday in Miami.

The excitement continues at the Miami Open presented by Itau as quarter-final battles heat up on Thursday. Fans eagerly await the clash between Jannik Sinner and Frances Tiafoe, alongside Alexander Zverev’s match against Francisco Cerundolo.

[2] Sinner vs. [19] Tiafoe (1:00 p.m. EDT)
Sinner hasn’t dropped a set in his last fourteen matches at ATP Masters 1000 events, with his last set loss dating back to October 5, 2025, in Shanghai.
Next up is Tiafoe, who is eager to challenge the World No. 2’s impressive streak after reaching his first Masters 1000 quarter-final since his 2024 Cincinnati final defeat against Sinner.
After semi-final exits at both the Australian Open and Doha, Sinner is hungry for his first title of 2026. Now, having regained his form on North American hard courts, he finds himself just three victories away from achieving the illustrious ‘Sunshine Double’—winning both Indian Wells and Miami in the same season, a feat accomplished by only seven others, including Roger Federer in 2017.
The defending champion from Miami, Sinner, boasts a 4-1 lead in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series. Tiafoe has put in admirable performances to reach this stage, particularly saving two match points in a dramatic third-round win over 2025 champion Jakub Mensik, followed by victories over Arthur Cazaux and Terence Atmane. Currently sitting at No. 18 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings, Tiafoe aims to climb higher with a potential upset.
[3] Zverev vs. [18] Cerundolo (not before 7:00 p.m. EDT)
For a time, Cerundolo held the upper hand over Zverev, winning their first three encounters before Zverev leveled the series at 3-3. This Thursday night, Cerundolo looks to regain momentum in Miami, where he has consistently performed well throughout his career.
In 2022, Cerundolo made waves by reaching the semi-finals in Miami, quickly climbing from outside the Top 100 to No. 51 in the PIF ATP Rankings. He followed that success with quarter-final appearances in 2023 and 2025. This season, the 18th seed has taken down heavyweights like Daniil Medvedev, Ugo Humbert, and Thiago Agustin Tirante to make it to his third quarter-final of the year.
Zverev, on the other hand, has emphasized a more aggressive style in 2026. Although he hasn’t secured a title yet this year, his semi-final runs at both the Australian Open and Indian Wells have showcased his potential. Chasing his eighth Masters 1000 crown and first since Paris in 2024, Zverev aims to assert his dominance over Cerundolo and set up a thrilling semi-final match against either Sinner or Tiafoe.
