In a momentous occasion, Roger Federer received the exhilarating news of his induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The outpouring of support from tennis legends deepened the significance of this honor.
Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg, both esteemed members of the ATP No. 1 Club and Federer’s childhood heroes, spoke with Federer via video call to extend their heartfelt congratulations.
Becker praised Federer, stating, “You’ve transformed tennis into something extraordinary. Your success drew in fans from all walks of life, igniting a passion for the sport beyond the traditional audience. You’re not just one of the all-time greats; you’re the most significant sports figure ever.”
Edberg, who had a close coaching relationship with Federer for two seasons, expressed his admiration: “Huge congratulations on your Hall of Fame induction. You’ve truly earned this accolade—your 20 Grand Slam titles say it all.”
Other Hall of Fame members, including the legendary Billie Jean King and fellow Swiss Martina Hingis, also expressed their admiration for Federer’s incredible journey.
King remarked, “You have touched the lives of countless individuals. Your determination, focus, and intensity were palpable. Watching you play was like witnessing the essence of your character unfold.”
Hingis added, “You made the game look effortless, but it’s the dedication behind the scenes that truly mattered.”
Federer will be officially honored at the Induction Celebration in Newport, scheduled for August 27-29, 2026.
