TURIN, Italy — With a beaming smile, Carlos Alcaraz proudly held the prestigious trophy for the year-end No. 1 tennis player on Friday.

The 22-year-old Spanish sensation received the accolade at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, just moments before Jannik Sinner’s match against Ben Shelton commenced.

“It’s an incredible honor to reclaim the No. 1 spot in the world,” Alcaraz expressed. “This achievement is a product of relentless effort, alongside my team, day in and day out. It’s truly a goal, but I believe it’s a journey best traveled with others by your side.”

“It’s about having your entire team, family, and loved ones behind you, providing support through both the challenges and the triumphs.”

This marks the second occasion in Alcaraz’s career that he has wrapped up the year atop the rankings.

He previously made history as the youngest player to finish the year at No. 1, achieving this remarkable feat at just 19 years old in 2022.

“Holding this trophy once more, especially after first winning it in 2022, alongside my unchanged team, fills me with immense pride,” Alcaraz shared.

“For me, this is a monumental accomplishment. It signifies everything to me, and I couldn’t be more proud and thrilled.”
