Gleison Bremer, a seasoned athlete with a wealth of experience in high-pressure situations, stands as vice-captain of the legendary Juventus FC and has proudly donned the Brazilian national jersey five times.
Despite his accolades, Bremer finds inspiration in the remarkable achievements of tennis professionals on the ATP Tour. This 28-year-old football aficionado, who admires talents like Lorenzo Musetti, Jannik Sinner, and Novak Djokovic, was in Turin’s Inalpi Arena on Wednesday to witness the thrilling action unfold at the Nitto ATP Finals.
“What truly captivates me is their mindset,” Bremer shared with ATPTour.com (in Italian), reflecting on the contrasts between football and tennis. “In tennis, you face the spotlight alone. There are no excuses; you must bear the weight of your performance. In football, if you falter, your teammates can cover for you.”
Bremer’s passion for tennis isn’t limited to the Nitto ATP Finals. Earlier in 2025, he attended the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters in April, where he had the chance to meet Musetti. On Wednesday, he cheered courtside as Sinner clinched a straight-sets victory over Alexander Zverev and congratulated the reigning champion following his triumph.
For a Brazilian sporting enthusiast in 2025, the ascent of a new tennis sensation is undeniably exciting. Joao Fonseca, who triumphed at the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF, has been making waves this season.
This 19-year-old prodigy from Rio de Janeiro achieved a career-high ranking of No. 24 in the PIF ATP Rankings after securing his first ATP 500 title at the Swiss Indoors Basel earlier this month. Bremer believes Fonseca is poised to join the ranks of greats from Brazil’s illustrious sporting legacy.
