Carlos Alcaraz kicked off his practice sessions at Inalpi Arena on Wednesday, immersing himself in preparation for the highly-anticipated Nitto ATP Finals. Teaming up with fellow competitor Taylor Fritz, Alcaraz engaged in an intense evening of training.
The talented Spaniard is hungry for his first title at the Nitto ATP Finals while vying for the coveted spot as ATP Year-End No.1 presented by PIF. With an impressive record of 67 match victories this season, he has claimed eight titles to date.
Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton have also made their way to Turin, each taking part in practice sessions at Inalpi Arena on Wednesday. Defending champion Jannik Sinner and Alex de Minaur were busy at Stampa Sporting, a nearby training venue, putting in their own hours of practice.
Ben Shelton is making his debut at this illustrious year-end event. The 23-year-old American clinched his biggest career title in August at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Canada, soaring to a career-high ranking of No. 6. He also reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open, marking a stellar season.
Zverev, a two-time champion at the Nitto ATP Finals, lifted the trophy in 2018 and 2021. This year, the German made it to his third major final in Melbourne and celebrated his 24th tour-level title in Munich this past April.
