The Laver Cup is a captivating three-day competition pitting six top players from Europe against six of their counterparts from the rest of the world. This year, the excitement unfolds at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, from September 19-21. Fans can look forward to witnessing esteemed stars like Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev from Team Europe, along with Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur from Team World.

Here’s everything you need to anticipate for the eighth installment of the Laver Cup.

When is the Laver Cup?

The Laver Cup will take place over three exhilarating days, from Friday, September 19, to Sunday, September 21, at the Chase Center, home of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and WNBA’s Golden State Valkyries. The inaugural Laver Cup was launched in Prague, Czechia, back in 2017.

What is the format of the Laver Cup?

The event consists of five sessions across three days, where the first team to reach 13 points (out of a total of 24) takes home the trophy. Should the score be tied after the 12 matches, a decisive doubles match will determine the champion.

On Day 1, each match is worth one point, Day 2 sees matches valued at two points each, while matches on Day 3 carry a weight of three points.

What’s the schedule for the Laver Cup?

Friday, September 19: Day Session – Match 1 (Singles) begins at 1 p.m. PT, followed by Match 2 (Singles). Night Session – Match 3 (Singles) kicks off at 7 p.m. PT, followed by Match 4 (Doubles).

Saturday, September 20: Day Session – Match 5 (Singles) starts at 1 p.m. PT, followed by Match 6 (Singles). Night Session – Match 7 (Singles) follows at 7 p.m. PT, and Match 8 (Doubles) will conclude the evening.

Sunday, September 21: Day Session – Match 9 (Doubles) starts at 12 p.m. PT, followed by up to three singles matches – Matches 10, 11, and 12, if needed.
