LONDON — Two-time champion Carlos Alcaraz has triumphed once again, advancing to the semifinals of Wimbledon after a convincing victory over Cameron Norrie with a score of 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday.

With this win, Alcaraz extends his remarkable winning streak to 23 matches and becomes just the second Spanish player ever to make it to the men’s singles semifinals at Wimbledon three times, following in the footsteps of Rafael Nadal.

After Norrie successfully held serve at the start of the match on Centre Court, Alcaraz, the second seed, seized control, winning five consecutive games against the left-handed Brit.

Throughout the match, Alcaraz maintained dominance, facing only five break points and saving them all. He displayed his powerful game with a total of 39 winners and 13 aces, alongside 26 unforced errors.

“Playing another semifinal here at Wimbledon is incredibly special,” Alcaraz expressed during an on-court interview, wrapping up the quarterfinal match in just 1 hour and 39 minutes.

Next up for Alcaraz is a clash against the No. 5 seed, Taylor Fritz, with a coveted spot in the final on the line.

Earlier in the day, Fritz overcame a setback during his match—receiving treatment for a foot issue—to advance to the semifinals for the first time, defeating Karen Khachanov 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (4).

The American, who was the runner-up at last year’s U.S. Open, entered the match with a 1-4 record in Grand Slam quarterfinals and 0-2 at Wimbledon.

Fritz started strong, winning 40 of his 47 service points in the initial two sets, and he never faced a break point during that period.

However, Khachanov, a two-time major semifinalist, rallied to win eight out of nine games. During this stretch, Fritz took a medical timeout, allowing the trainer to re-tape his foot after removing his shoe and sock.

Despite Khachanov breaking him to start the fourth set, Fritz quickly regained composure. He was just two points away from victory three times while leading 5-4 and 6-5. Ultimately, the match reached a tiebreaker tied at 4-all, where Fritz fired off three consecutive points to clinch the win.

Fritz concluded the thrilling encounter with 16 aces, recording a top serve speed of 138 m.p.h.

For Khachanov, it was yet another disappointing exit in the Grand Slam, as he remains 0-11 against top-five ranked opponents.
