Day 1

Venue: Amanda and Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center
7901 W Washington Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89128

Tennis Channel Open started off with perfect weather conditions. Blue and bright Las Vegas skies provided pleasure to the spectators as well as players
The doors opened early in the morning, with preliminary matches starting around 10:00 am. This day entry was free and so will be tomorrow

The match of the day was between Max Mirnyi and Rik DE Voest. The match was hard fought. In the end Mirnyi got the much deserved win. The other match which was interesting to watch was between Montcourt and Dorsch. Both opponents fought hard till the end. In this match Dorsch won but fair play to Montcourt, who did not allow Dorsch an easy win

Present amongst the spectators were Andre Agassi. The crowd of local tennis players and tennis enthusiasts were very much present, watching their favorite players practice, photographing them, asking for auto-graphs. Of course the players obliged

The spectators got first hand and up close look at fiery Marat Safin, aggressive Lleyton Hewitt, fast serving John Isner and Sam Querrey and sleek Thomas Johannson

The event supported by an army of volunteers, who have done very well. There are plenty eating and drinking facilities, there are many stalls selling tennis paraphernalia, where spectators could browse between matches

Tomorrow is expected to be another good day, with the weather predicted to be warm and skies blue and bright. The Americans, Jenkins, La Porte, Delic, Sweeting, and Boryanov will be out on the courts fighting it out

Hope to see you all there
