Ryan Wolfington was chosen by the United States Tennis Association Nevada District board to be their new Executive Director. "With Ryan's passion and corporate experience we felt this was a unique opportunity to take advantage of his abilities to do some great things," said USTA-Board President Tim Blenkiron. Wolfington has over 7 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to entering the Tennis/Non-Profit world Ryan was a senior executive in a firm that acquired and restructured small to mid-sized companies in the Gaming, Financial Services, and Teleservices Industries. His last 3 years were as President of Casino Money Centers where he managed 85 employees in 6 offices nationwide. |
In 1997 Ryan's desire to live a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle prompted his interest in the game of tennis, and since then, he has not looked back. As a volunteer Ryan’s VegasTennis.com web site promoted and marketed the game of tennis in Las Vegas for the last 6 years. During this time he has written hundreds of articles for tennis publications, including Inside Tennis, Tennis Life, View News paper, Stirling Club magazine, and his web site VegasTennis.com. He also founded VegasTennis.com's Marty Hennessy Jr. Tennis Foundation and with the help of Marty Hennessy, Mike Agassi and Tony Bennett, held numerous fundraiser's including performances from Mr. Bennett, Jay Leno, Rita Rudner, Clint Holmes, lead singer of Foreigner Dominic Allen, Mosaic and Jack Jones. During this time he raised over $800,000.00 in an effort to "Inspire children through Mentoring, Tennis, and Education." During the past 3 years he was the Executive Director of Tennis at the Las Vegas Hilton and ran over 15 tournaments, bringing two nationals to Las Vegas, Nate Schulman's Young Guns Championships and The Mike Agassi "NO QUIT" Championships. "I have gotten a lot out of marrying my passion with my profession. I can say I have been very busy over the last 6 years but have not worked a day. It has all been a blast," explained Wolfington as to why he loves his job. "I have always had faith that if you do the right thing it will all work out perfectly and to me this is the perfect job." |
