When you walk into the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells tennis center you see the vision of two men and their team realized over 30 years of excellence. Charlie Passarell and Raymond Moore have created what Andre Agassi calls "THE GRAND SLAM OF THE WEST." Apart from having hundreds of the top players in the world, the atmosphere is full of possibility, hope and excitement
which inspire people to get involved and come back year after year. That explains why their volunteer army exceeds 750 people, why tennis legends like Jack Kramer, Bud Collins, Vic Braden and many others converge here each year to share their life experiences.

As a result we get to go and enjoy one of the most personal and intimate environments professional sports has to offer. "In the past couple weeks I covered Nascar, boxing, and basketball, and this tournament is the most inclusive for the fans that I have ever experienced in sports writing," said a local newspaper reporter. When you have the press, the fans and the players singing your praises something is happening here.

In the heart of Summerlin, just before the Red Rock Mountains, the Red Rock Country Club is host to a legendary-bound tennis program. Red Rock’s tennis programming features many annual events its invited guests enjoy for modest costs and that are free to its members. Some of these events include The Rally for a Cure Mixer, Wilson Demo day, Prince Demo Day, and a Member Appreciation Day. There are also daily clinics to participate in and staff professionals giving private and group private instruction, 7 days a week.

As a semi-private club, there are many opportunities for invited guests to play tennis at this fine facility. Red Rock offers several programs for tennis players to play for Red Rock USTA league teams. Further, its tennis professionals offer customized team clinics that meet the individual needs of each team. All drop-in clinics featured are open to tennis players of all levels and ages. These drop-in clinics have many themes such as Dynamic Doubles, The Director’s Cut, Wanna Workout, Cardio20Tennis and Super Drills.

Over 130 USTA-Nevada members attended our first annual ?ESPN ZONE Davis Cup? viewing party. Everyone ate a great lunch while watching the Bryan Brothers bring home a victory for our USA Davis Cup team. Thanks to the help of USTA-Nevada board members Tim Blenkiron (President), Claire Roth (Treasurer), Jon Janotta, Dr. Jaldeep Daulat, along with staff Mary Marigos, Rob Merriman and Ryan Wolfington we had a sold out crowd.

Kimberly Yee in Review Journal
Kimberly Yee article on tennisrecruiting.net
Kimberly Yee of Las Vegas did something Andre Agassi has never done, won USTA National Championships in singles and doubles. Further, she was given yet another sportsmanship award.

Yee, who is taught by her father and tennis pro Adam Yee, and trains at the Las Vegas Hilton Tennis Academy with Tim Blenkiron, is now ranked #5 in the United States. Yee is among a few young girls chosen by the USTA high performance team, led by Patrick McKenroe, as the future of USA tennis.

On her way to this unprecedented set of victories Yee beat the 17 seed Emma Davis of MA, 6-3; 6-4, then 11 seed Alexandra Letzt(11) of AZ, 6-0; 6-1, 7 seed Caroline Xie of CA (Robert Landsdorph prodigy), 7-5; 6-2 and in the semifinals Julia O'Loughlin, the 6 seed of FL, 6-2; 6-4. In the finals she defeated Christina Makarova the 2 seed of CA 6-4; 6-4.

Thanks to Glen Alex of Massage Advantage, "the second annual "CAMP BRYAN" raised over $1,600.00 for USTA-Nevada programs.
